29 May 2017 By AIS Aquatic and Fitness

The AIS Aquatic and Fitness Centre team (made up of Swim School Instructors, Lifeguards and some amazing swimmers from our Club Aquatics program) recently took part in the MS Mega Swim.

For the last six years the AIS Aquatic and Fitness Centre has entered a team in the MS Mega Swim and this year was no exception.

Each year as part of the MS Mega Swim there is 100m sprint.  This year Oscar Johnston, one of our Club Aquatics swimmers, represented the AIS Aquatic and Fitness Centre team.  Congratulations to Oscar for his 2nd place finish!

At the end of the 24 hours we had swam an amazing 84.8km to finish in 3rd place, 700m short of our record set in 2016. Thankyou to everyone that has sponsored us this year, together we have raised $2375.

A special thank you to Beth Logan, Beth has participated in all six Ms Mega Swims for the AIS Aquatic and Fitness Centre.  Also to Sandy Smith for her efforts in five of the six years.

Thank you to our team of 16 Swimmers for their amazing efforts: Alex Timms, Amy Foran, Beth Logan, Jack Bigmore, Kate Barton, Laura Sutton, Lauren Abraham, Sandy Smith, Tash Kosev , Carly Rixon, Emma Willett, Jack Witchalls, Lachie Sampson, Oscar Johnston, Roy Prosser, Sol Kruger.
